Well,  Edea is a case ^^ where she's not as evil as one may think. Edea was tricked by Ultimicia, and she was trying to take over the world with her godlike powers when Squall knocks her out and she appearently forgets it all. x.o Well,  then she becomes a good witch (if there is such a thing as one.. ). She used to take care of Selphie, Squall, Irvine, Zell and Quistis when they were all little at an orphanage, which makes it hard for these SeeDs to just revolt against her, because she's almost their own mother.
She has powerful magic- Okay, I'll be real honest, Selphie Tilmitt could outcast her anyday! u.u!- anyway, she is a strong lady who's married to Cid, the old headmaster.
